Hello everyone!

It has been about 4 months since my last post and boy were they busy! We were working on Morgan's room getting ready for her arrival, getting ready for the baby shower and then I went into labor. Morgan Monster was born on Friday 11-13-09, Friday the 13th no doubt! She decided she wanted to join us a week early and it was a beautiful experience! She was born at Nativiti Birth Center in the Woodlands, TX. She is now approaching 7 weeks of age. Time flies! Here is a picture of our monster at Thanksgiving, so cute! Since her arrival I haven't gotten much done with EMarie Designs, but now that she's getting settled I am going to start working on it again. :) So look for new stuff in my Artfire Studio!
Stay cool, calm and collected! Tata for now!

Checking In

Hello my lovely followers!

I have been super busy this past month! We have been getting Baby Morgan's room ready for her arrival in late November. She's doing well, as am I. Kicking up a storm! We have her room painted, and now we will be getting carpet installed very soon. :) I have a few things that I have been working on that I need to get posted. I have stained so
me wooden letters spelling Morgan. I am working on making some clay birds to display in her room. Her bedding is bird themed, and I haven't been able to find any reasonably priced and cute bird figurines; so I decided to make my own! Here is a picture of the bedding:

The birds are cute and stylized. I will also be working on some paintings to hang above her crib; those will also be similar to the birds in the bedding. :) I just have lots to do! I will take some pictures of the stuff I am currently working on and have finished and get that up this weekend. Thanks for visiting!

Finally! My Owl pillow pictures! :)

Hello Lovelies!

I am finally getting around to posting the pictures of my finished owl pillow. All of the pieces are handmade and created by myself and my hubby. This is a gift for my cutest niece! She had a birthday on July 17th and she is 4 and growing up so fast!
It turned out so good! I'm ready to make more! I have been brainstorming making different animals. This was a blast to make, and since my sewing machine was cooperating with me it was a breeze to sew! Then I added my very own handmade tag. :) It just added that finishing touch.

Smarti Pants Cloth Diaper Give away!

http://sweetaspunkinpie.blogspot.com/2009/07/smarti-pants-cloth-diaper-review.html

Hello my lovelies!

I have stumbled upon a great giveaway! This is only lasting through Monday the 20th so you better act fast! It's a one-size cloth diaper from SmartiPants. The unique thing about this diaper is it's a pocket diaper with an opening at both ends. This means you don't have to remove the inserts when you do a diaper change. You just throw them in the washer as is, and the inserts with work themselves out during a regular wash cycle! No more touching inserts! They come in 7 cute colors and they will last from newborn to potty training! They are definately worth a look see! Even if I don't win, I am definately going to invest in some to try out!

My latest adventure!

Hello my Lovelies!

It has been a slow week for me and EMarie Designs. I made one dream catcher this week, and that's about it. But the person I made it for was very happy with it, so I'm satisfied! Last night and tonight I have been working on a new project. I'm making my own pattern for a cute owl plush pillow!

I have created each piece, with help from my amazing hubby, this is what we came up with! Isn't he cute?! I can't wait to get him all sewn up and stuffed! It's been too hot for me to work on any resin pendants. I have to work out in the garage to buff and smooth the edges, and it's really hot out there! So I decided on an inside project. Well, I must be off to bed!

New this week!

Hello Lovelies!

Boy has it been a crazy week! We had a minute leak from a pipe in the wall of our laundry room. We ended up tearing a huge strip of drywall out to see it, and tearing up the carpet on the stairs to get to the spot to fix it. But it's fixed now!

We also purchased a new car this weekend to get ready for baby. My New Beetle was becoming a money pit, so we had to get something more reliable and something that has more room. We bought a VW TDI Jetta Sport Wagen, and it's a gorgeous RED! I am in love with it! It already needs a bath, it's starting to get dirty. :(

I was able to post some more goodies on my Artfire page. Http://EMarie.artfire.com. Please stop in to check it out! I hope to be able to finish working on the pieces in my previous post sometime this weekend. Then whatever doesn't get claimed, I will post that up too! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

TaTa for now!

New resin goodies!

Hello my lovelies!

Here's a few pictures of my new resin pieces I
am working on. These little orbs will be attached
to some barrettes. I have other colors too, but
you will have to wait to see those!

These will eventually be pendants.
Some of them didn't come out very well,
but that's how it goes with resin. You
win some, you lose some. The colors
that you see here are not accurate,
I was just really eager to get a picture
to show you what I have been working on.
Some of these will be spoken for,
I promised some of these in a trade.
I don't know which one's she will pick.

And this little jewel almost came out perfect.
The thing I did wrong was use paper stickers
and not seal them. Any paper you try to embed into resin will absorb the resin unless you seal it with some modge podge or any other type of glue that dries clear. :( If you look closely at the fish, you can see what kind of looks like water spots, that's where the resin absorbed into the stickers.

This is all for now ladies and germs!
Thanks for looking!

Dream Catchers

Good evening my lovelies!

Here is a look at my latest creation. This dream catcher was made
for a friend of mine. He loves the ocean. I had made one for him
just like this last year, but sadly hurricane Ike blew his home away and it was in it. :( He loved it so much, so I made him another at his request!

This little one here is for a little girl.
The same friend that I made the Star
Fish dream catcher for wanted this one
for his girlfriend's little girl. She's 5 years
old and loves fairies! This one was lots of
fun and my first small scale dream catcher.

I love to make dream catchers! I make them to sell and will do
custom work. The custom dream catchers are always the most
fun to do. If you want a dream catcher and have an idea for
something custom, send me an email and I will whip something
up for you!

Work is play and play is work....

Hello friends!

I don't remember where I found this. I remember saving it to my computer and thinking to myself that this, in my mind, is how I want to live. This is so inspiring to me that it has motivated me to get organized (somewhat) and start selling my creations. I hope it inspires you in some way!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The way it is when your work is your play and your play is your work. Your life is all yours and you have no one to answer to or hide behind but yourself and you are free to go just as far and just as fast as your native talents and energies and desires will allow. Which is a whole lot more satisfying than having your existence busted up by the "experts" into little chunks, neatly packaged in airtight boxes labeled "work" and "play" and then fed back to you piecemeal at some federally mandated pace.
And that most of us now sit around vacantly watching garbage on the boob tube each evening, instead of laughing and talking to each other while we knit our own sweaters and whittle our own art objects...and that very few of us now make our work our play and our play our work...and that only a handful of us even understand the inner workings of a car or tractor (let alone are capable of building one that is better than any you can buy, using only simple hand tools)...and that most of us now spend our days doing what we are told, instead of what our souls cry out for us to do...
Amazing Mold Putty
Here are two Amazing Mold putty molds that I made recently. The pieces below are my test pours. The first mold had a bit of air underneath the item I pressed in. The pieces will have a few humps, but that can be sanded down. All in all, not to shabby for my first experiment with Amazing Mold putty! It was very easy to do, and lots of fun!
Some goodies!
As I promised!
Here are a few goodies to tease your eyes for now.
These will be available for sale in the near future when my site goes up.
This first pendant is a cute button. I have attached a sterling silver plated bail to the back for a clean look, and used a sterling chain.
This piece is an oak leaf punched out in the shape of a puzzle piece. I used the same bail and chain.
This piece is of a flower printed on paper glued to a scrabble tile. Same bail, I used sterling ball chain on this piece.
Enjoy!
